I am a great admirer of Masamune Shirow, the artist who did Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, and several other shounen manga. This illustration was based on one of his Ghost in the Shell covers. General Kusanagi is a character who seeks the meaning of existence, a questioner in a world where the line between humanity and machinery is blurred. She is an apt representative of this card, which signifies judgment, rebirth, inner calling, and absolution.
