Conceptually, this was one of the easier cards to draw. Because the Eight of Swords signifies restriction, confusion, and powerlessness, I figured the best thing to do was to choose a character and bind him or her up. Poor Shinji. He actually does a good job exuding powerlessness, particularly in the beginning of the Evangelion series. The hand in the background belongs to his Eva unit and is supposed to be grasping at him.
